The terroir Cabardès

The land of the Mijane estate extends over a hundred hectares. From Villemoustaussou to Villalier, the vines account for 45% of the exploited land.
Our plots, ideally located between the Canal du Midi and the Aude, are nestled on the foothills of the Montagne Noire.

Le Cabardès

Appellation d’origine protégéelogo-cabardes

The terroir of Château la Mijane is spread over the municipalities of Villemoustaussou, Villedubert and Villalier. One third of the vines are cultivated in PDO Cabardès, in PGI Cité de Carcassonne and PGI Pays d’Oc.
Cabardès is one of the smallest terroirs in Languedoc-Roussillon, situated between the Cité de Carcassonne and the Black mountain. The wines issued from this area are known to be elegant and complex thanks to the clay-limestone soil, the good water supply from the nearby six rivers and the Mediterreanean and Oceaning climate influences.

IGP Cité de Carcassonne

IGP Cité de Carcassonne
logo-vin-cite-carcassonne

IGP Cité de Carcassonne is situated in the West of the Languedoc and the Aude department, extends principally along the hillsides that frame it, in a radius of 20 km around the city of Carcassonne.
The vineyard benefits from its climate with two alternating winds: the Marin, the hot and humid air of the Mediterranean, and the Cers, the dry and temperate wind of the Atlantic. This harmony allows us to create the fresh, fruity, elegant, and balanced wines typical of our area.

IGP Pays d’Oc

Pays d’Oc

logo-pays-ocArching along the shores of the Mediterranean, the Pays d’Oc stretches across 4 départements of the languedoc-Roussillon: Pyrénées-Orientales, Aude, Hérault and Gard.
It covers 200km of beaches and an ocean of vines bathing in the sunshine.
A rich and natural combination of steep slopes, hilly peaks, vineyards, scrubland and the sea, the Pays d’Oc territory is embraced by its Mediterranean climate that comfortably enfolds the vines with its dry and windswept soils.
Naturally focused on vines, Pays d’Oc has adapted its vineyards and embraced different French grape varieties that have permanently adopted the Pays d’Oc accent.
