Near the famous Medieval “Cité de Carcassonne”, with the beautiful Canal du Midi running directly through it, la Mijane is a domaine shaped by history.
Wine grower since the 18th century, la Mijane has stood the test of time in its majestic setting.
The vineyard covers a hundred hectares including 30 hectares of vines.
Oceanic and Mediterranean influences create a succession of freshness and sunshine giving a microclimate for developing complex, original and balanced wines.
From selected plots, grapes are harvested at optimum phenolic ripeness. Cold maceration. Alcoholic fermentation of 4-5 days with temperature control.
Post maceration (approximately 4 weeks).
Aged in oak barrels for one year.
Wine is bottled after finning with egg white.
Grapes: 60% Grenache, 40% Merlot
Dress: garnet red
Bouquet: blueberry and chocolate aromas. “Garrigue” and buttered bread notes
Taste: Round and full attack. Good length
Food pairing: rib roast, game, breast of duck, cheese
Service: between 15 and 17 °
Aging potential: to drink now and can be aged between 5 and 7 years
